Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released an updated Advance Beneficiary Notice of Noncoverage (ABN), Form CMS-R-131.
The newest version is now being distributed and carries an expiration date of March 31, 2029.
Action Required:
- Immediately review your current supply of ABN forms
- Discard any outdated or expired versions
- Begin using only the updated ABN form with the 03/31/2029 expiration date
Failure to use the current ABN form may result in the notice being considered invalid, which could impact billing.
